Locking and Unlocking a Sprint Visual Voicemail Message

In older versions of the Sprint Visual Voicemail software, older messages could be automatically deleted when your Inbox is full. The lock function was a way to protect messages from automatic deletion. The current version of Sprint Visual Voicemail no longer automatically deletes messages. So, the lock function is not really used. However, you can still "lock" messages that you want to mark with the padlock icon (perhaps as a reminder that you don't want to delete them yourself).

To lock a message:

1.

Tap the Voicemail icon on the Home Screen.

Press  and tap  > Voicemail. The Sprint Visual Voicemail application will launch and the Sprint Visual Voicemail inbox will be displayed.

Tap on the message in the Sprint Visual Voicemail Inbox that you wish to lock. The message playback screen will be displayed and the message will begin to play.

Press and then tap (Lock).  The message lock icon will now appear for this message.

To unlock a message:

Press and then tap (Unlock).
